Wednesday, May 30th 2012, AMA House, 6:30pm for a 7pm start: 'Talk the Talk: The Junior Doctor Interview'
Speakers: A/Prof Deb Colville, Dr Ros Terry, Intern panel: Dr Sarah Heynemann, Dr Skye Siskos and Dr Madhura Naidu.

Junior doctors and medical students; or anyone applying for a medical job! From “How is a group interview conducted?”, to “What are some of the types of questions which I will be asked”? This workshop will help you prepare for your upcoming medical job interviews. 


Tuesday 24th July 2012, Lyceum Club: Annual Lyceum Lunch- Medicine and the Arts
Speaker: Dr Ranjana Srivastava

Join us for our Annual lunch at the Lyceum Club. Dr Srivastava will be talking about her book: Tell Me the Truth: Conversations with my patients about life and death.  This event is a nice, relaxing way to spend an afternoon away from work and hear a thought-provoking talk on a fascinating topic.

VMWS’s advocacy event for the year, “Canapes for a cause” will have a global health emphasis, though with a local flavour. We will feature three exciting medical speakers, and a captivating poster display of great local projects conducted by medical women.

Venue: St Vincent's Hospital, 11th Floor Boardroom, Inpatient Services Building, 40 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy

We explored some of the opportunities and challenges of working in global health, working abroad, and in particular in developing world contexts. Our speakers had clocked up many miles working across Africa, Asia-pacific, and remote Australia and shared their travellers' stories, motivations for working abroad, and practical tips on getting involved in global health initiatives.
