SUMMARY:QMWS Re:Set Masterclass facilitated by Dr Marga Gooren - 20 Nov
DESCRIPTION:Please join our state affiliate\, QMWS for an online Masterclass event facilitated by Self-Compassion expert Dr Marga Gooren\, Saturday 20 November 2021.  Online bookings for all AFMW members and network are welcome. \n  \nABOUT\nAre you perfectionistic\, find it hard to please your inner critical voice and are you often harsher on yourself than you would be towards others? \nQMWS is hosting an online Masterclass Re:Set by Self-Compassion expert Dr Marga Gooren on Saturday 20th November 2021. This Masterclass is specifically designed for female doctors and female medical students\, and is generously supported by Avant Mutual. \nThere are some common misperceptions about Self-Compassion. It is not the same as self-pity\, being self-serving\, self-indulgent\, self-centered or just plain selfishness. Self-Compassion means treating yourself as you would treat a good friend and not be weighed down by your inner critical self-talk. \nResearch has shown that Self-Compassion decreases stress\, anxiety\, depression\, burnout and compassion fatigue\, and improves resilience\, self-care\, engagement\, wellbeing and quality of care in doctors and other healthcare workers. This is especially important for the many of us that are at risk of or already experiencing Compassion Fatigue and/or Burnout. \nDr Gooren is a trained GP and currently specializes in helping (female) doctors to live a balanced\, satisfying\, and meaningful life through her individual coaching\, training\, and writing. She has published two books in Dutch: ‘Heart for the Doctor\, working with Self-Compassion’ (2020) and ‘Resilience for female physicians’ (2021)\, which are in the process of being translated into English. \nDon’t miss this amazing opportunity. I have been very much inspired by Dr Gooren’s work and am very grateful she has agreed to share her knowledge with us. \nAs this is an online group event\, there will be limited tickets available so please make sure to purchases your tickets as soon as possible. I hope to see you there. \nDr Ira van der Steenstraten\nPresident QMWS \n\n  \nDETAILS\nDate/Time: Sat 20th Nov 2021\, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm AEST\nLocation: Zoom / Online\nFlyer: Download the event flyer (pdf) \n  \nTickets / REGISTER\n \n  \nTickets can purchased through Humantix using this link. \nOnline bookings for all AFMW members and network are welcome. \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \nDr Marissa Daniels (MBBS\, BMedSc)Marissa Daniels is a paediatric intensive care medicine trainee\, yAFMW co-Chair and past Treasurer for AFMW.
