SUMMARY:Gender Inclusion Webinar | RANZCOG
DESCRIPTION:This RANZCOG webinar to be held Tuesday 15 November 2022\, will bring together the clinician and consumer perspective\, with a multidisciplinary panel to talk about their experiences in working with sexuality and gender diverse patients\, or as consumers. \n  \nThe Panel\nChair\nDr Charlotte Elder\nDr Charlotte Elder is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology and Transgender Health. She completed her MBBS (Hons) and BMedSci at The University of Melbourne in 2006 and\, after an internship and residency year at the Alfred Hospital\, moved on to undertake FRANZCOG training whilst working at Monash Health\, The Mercy Hospital for Women\, and Box Hill Hospital. Charlotte completed a Fellowship in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology at The Royal Children’s Hospital and\, through this\, joined their Gender Team. \nIn 2016\, Charlotte became the equal-first Australian to achieve the international IFEPAG fellowship in Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology. Currently Charlotte has public appointments at The Royal Children’s Hospital\, The Mercy Hospital for Women\, and Austin Health. She has a private practice in both obstetrics and gynaecology. Charlotte is passionate about young people’s health and helping everyone to achieve their potential. In her spare time\, she enjoys kid-wrangling\, swimming\, running\, crafting and cooking\, and occasionally produces a short film. \nPanellists\nAda Castle\nAda Castle (she/her) is a cisgender queer woman who has been a member of the RANZCOG Consumer Network Working Group since January 2021. Hailing from Victoria\, Ada has lived and worked in both regional\, rural and metro settings. Ada is especially passionate about improving OB/GYN access for members of the LGBTIQA+ community and people with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Ada has worked in health promotion and peer support and enjoys volunteering with various not-for-profit organisations. \nDr Samantha Chow\nDr Samantha Chow is a general adult psychiatrist with a special interest in gender dysphoria and psychotherapy. She works part time at the South community mental health service and has a private practice herself. \nDr Nisha Khot\nDr Nisha Khot\, a RANZCOG Board Director and chair of the College’s Gender Equity and Diversity Working Group\, is Peninsula Health’s Clinical Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. After completing her undergraduate and post graduate degree in India\, Nisha moved to the United Kingdom where she retrained in Britain’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology training program. She migrated to Australia in 2010\, originally taking up a position at the Werribee Mercy Hospital. \nNisha holds several leadership positions\, including board memberships of the Rural Doctors Association of Victoria (RDAV) and Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH). She is an examiner for fellowship & advanced diploma exams in obstetrics and gynaecology. She is a passionate advocate for equitable and diverse representation in healthcare leadership\, sexual and reproductive rights of women and equitable access to healthcare and health literacy for migrant and refugee women. \nDr Eugene Priscott\nDr Eugene Priscott is a Sexual Health Physician and the Clinical Director of Brisbane Metro North Sexual Health and HIV Service. He holds the position of Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University. He has a background in General Practice and is very passionate about Gender Medicine. His special interests include: blood-borne virus infections\, including HIV Medicine; providing healthcare to minority groups\, including LGBTIQ people; sexual dysfunction; and genital dermatology. \nDr Christine Robinson\nDr Christine Robinson (they/them) is a non-binary identifying medical resident at Barwon Health in Geelong\, Waddawurrung Country. Their previous education and work has engaged Critical\, Queer\, Feminist and Literary theories\, which informs their social approach to medicine. They have a special interest in language and communication\, and have lectured in LGBTIQ Communication Skills at Deakin University Medical School and Barwon Health.
