DESCRIPTION:UPDATE – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.\n  \nThe AFMW hosted event “Women on Boards with guest speaker Dr Jennifer Schafer” is being held Wednesday 21 June 2023.  Dr Jennifer Schafer has a passion for governance and will offer her perspective on how Women contribute at Boards and give some tips and tricks on how to be an effective participant. \n  \n  \nAbout Women on Boards\nAFMW facilitates women doctors to be the best doctor they can be – advocating for patients and themselves through representation at local\, state and federal level. Speaking effectively at high level meetings is a skill not taught in medical school and often learned on the fly. The Women On Boards events are an opportunity for you to learn how to get your message across. \n  \nAbout the Speaker – Dr Jennifer Schafer\nJennifer’s medical career spans more than 35 years in primary care as a general practitioner\, as well as roles in medical education (UQ Faculty of Medicine)\, clinical research (Wesley Medical Research)\, and medical reporting (Channel 9). She continues to serve as Patron of The University of Queensland Medical Society. \nJen has a special interest in leadership and management\, arising from post-graduate study at UQ and QUT Business Schools\, and experience working as the Academic Lead for the UQ Medical Leadership Program.
