AFMW state affiliate, the QMWS (Queensland Medical Women’s Society) are pleased to announce that in 2022, there will be three NCWQ (National Council of Women of Queensland) Bursaries to award in conjunction with the Queensland Medical Women’s Society. Applications were launched this week, and close on the 23 May 2022.
Available Medical Student / Recent Graduate Bursaries
Each of the QMWS bursaries provides $1000 that can be used towards presentation or attendance at a relevant professional development event.
This year’s bursaries include:
- The inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Bursary, sponsored by Mater Health
- The Professor Tess Cramond Memorial Bursary, sponsored by AMAQ
- A QMWS bursary funded by QMWS members.
About The NCWQ Bursary Program
Established in 1905, the National Council of Women of Queensland Inc. (NCWQ) continues to represent the voice of thousands of women through its affiliated organisations and individual membership.
The bursary program, since its commencement in 2009, indicates the strong commitment of NCWQ to equality of opportunity for all women, especially in offering assistance to Queensland female students as they pursue their chosen pathway of study.
The 2022 program, through NCWQ and its sponsors (including QMWS), offers a range of bursaries, to assist Queensland women with their educational expenses.
How To Apply
Each bursary has its own criteria. Base criteria includes:
- A Female Student studying full-time
- A resident of Queensland or identify as a Queenslander
- An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia
- Plus, Bursary specific
