The inaugural Women in Rural Health Leadership Conference will be held in Sydney on Thursday 20 June. Designed for women in rural health who have started in, or are looking to progress to, leadership roles, it will feature a series of inspiring and practical presentations from women in leadership positions in the sector – as well as practical workshops. The Medical Women's International Association (MWIA) and Philippine Medical Women’s Association  (PMWA) are hosting the Western Pacific Regional Conference 11-13 July 2024 in Cebu City, Philippines. The topic of the event is "Empowering Women in Medical Education & Leadership". Registrations Now Open.

Dr Linny Kimly Phuong is a Paediatric Infectious Diseases Physician who currently works at Cabrini, the Royal Children’s Hospital and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

AFMW President, Dr Coll is interviewing doctor and award winning author, Leah Kaminsky on the 11th September at 7pm. AFMW members and non-members are invited to attend this Zoom session. Leah's debut novel The Waiting Room won the Voss Literary Prize and was shortlisted for the Helen Asher Award. It promises to be an entertaining evening. Registrar today.

QMWS100: Counting Down to 100 years – Our First Centennial Planning Meeting!

The inaugural meeting of the QMWS Centennial Celebration Working Group took place Tuesday 4th June 2024. Dr. Lydia Pitcher, Dr. Kathryn Mainstone, Dr. Barbara Woodhouse, Dr. Anna Raymond, and Dr. Chloe Hang were in attendance. We were graciously welcomed by Ms Lucy Reid, Senior Advancement Co-ordinator. We extend our warm thanks to her for her hospitality and for arranging easy access to the venue.

World Environment Day 2024 | United Nations

World Environment Day 2024, observed on June 5th, carries the theme “Restore Our Earth.” In the last Triennium, AFMW and Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA) signed a MOU and a specific interest group on Climate, Health and the Environment was initiated. Today DEA are asking for your support.
