MWIA held a session on Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls at which Dr Raie Goodwach presented, in addition Drs Goodwach and Casper were involved with both Canadian and Australian events. We look forward to all three attendees presenting their impressions of this important meeting. The agreed conclusions and other details from this meeting can be found here.
In other news: we have submitted our UN DPI/NGO application and are awaiting a reply, we were asked by PBAC to provide 3 nominees for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (closing date was February) and we were invited by Ms Libby Lloyd to be involved with a speaking tour for 9 prominent Arab women, including the first woman surgeon in the United Arab Emirates. We hope to report back to you on further progress in our next newsletter.
Apart from all that the AFMW Committee continues to work on updating our governance, maintaining relationships with all our alliances and preparing for the Seoul meeting! We hope to see you there.
