Interested parties can email their state committees if they are a member of a state medical women’s organisation, or email the AFMW Secretary directly ([email protected]) with a brief statement indicating expression of interest by close of business 8 November 2024.
1. AFMW Treasurer
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have experience on AFMW Council or State Committee
Job Description:
- Ensure that all money due to the Federation is collected and received and that all payments authorised by the Council are made
- Ensure that correct books and accounts are kept showing the financial affairs of the Federation including full details of all receipts and expenditure connected with the activities of the Federation
- Arrange for the accounts of the Federation to be audited yearly
- Report to Council on the financial status of the Federation
- Attend all AFMW Executive and Council meetings
2. AFMW National Coordinator
Eligibility Criteria:
- Member of AFMW
Job Description:
- The National Coordinator functions as the conduit of communication between MWIA and AFMW with the aim of keeping our ties active and our members engaged.
- Receive communication from MWIA, including but not limited to:
- Information about upcoming national and regional meetings and the international congress and encourage participation in these meetings
- Structure of MWIA
- Names of Executive members
- Distribution of the quarterly newsletter called the MWIA Update (or a summary thereof)
- Information about membership opportunities for various committees of MWIA
- Communicate to AFMW Council and member organisation Presidents and Secretaries the information received from MWIA
- Send communication to MWIA regional VP including, but not limited to:
- New contact information when there is a change in AFMW National Coordinator and AFMW President
- Quarterly written update including activities and projects of AFMW, awards given to members etc.
- Invitations to online events
- Encourage interest and engagement in involvement in MWIA
- Note: The National Coordinator is an ex-officio member of the Council without the power to vote, and is also a member of the Executive
- Attend all AFMW Executive and Council meetings, as well as MWIA meetings as requested
