Ruth is a general practitioner in Carlton, specialising in lesbian and women’s health. She is also a Senior Lecturer at the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne. She is currently undertaking research for a PhD in the patient doctor relationship between same sex attracted women and their general practitioner, funded by an NHMRC scholarship. She has an active interest in health, human rights and the law as they apply to lesbian and bisexual women and their families. She is a member of the Victorian Ministerial Advisory Committee on Gay and Lesbian Health.
