Our online forums occur frequently - almost weekly some months, so subscribe to our eBulletin to receive updates and invitations

About: These are Zoom meetings hosted by AFMW to provide a platform for members and Council to come together.

Membership is not mandatory for most events,  but your nominal membership fee  helps us do more good things and grants you access to our international  MWIA events  and networks also.

Time: Variable, including Weeknights to Saturdays.

Who: All members and friends are welcome to attend.

EVENT RECAP: The Talking HealthTech (THT) Autumn Summit was held on the 12th of May. It was a great pleasure moderating the session today on Gender Equity in Digital Health. It was a fabulous opportunity for women in medicine to learn the ‘how to’s’ on driving change, increasing participation and representation of women doctors in Digital Health, from this session.

AFMW Open Forum – CRISIS SERIES No.4 – “An Australian reflection of vaccination to control infectious diseases: influenza, polio, TB and COVID-19.” – 28 April 2022

[EVENT REMINDER] 28 APR: We are pleased to announce the next in our AFMW Open Forum Crisis Series, will be held at 7pm EDST on Thursday 28 April 2022 (just after the Anzac Day long weekend!). AFMW supporter, friend and colleague, Professor Robert Booy, a founder of the Oxford vaccine group, who was pivotal in establishing routine paediatric Haemophilus vaccination in the 1990s, will discuss the topic: “An Australian reflection of vaccination to control infectious diseases: influenza, polio, TB and COVID-19.” Save the date.

13 FEB: The next in our AFMW Open Forum series will be this Sunday 5PM AEDT. We have commenced our 2022 Open Forum sessions with a “COVID Crisis” series last week, and this week it seems timely to acknowledge National Apology Day on 13 February, and again express our sorrow for the impact COVID-19 is having on First Nations peoples, in the context of known harm from actions that caused the Stolen Generation.

MWIA Western Pacific Region - Meet the Philippines

Today the AFMW Open Forum was replaced by a special international event. Hosted by the Medical Women’s International Association’s Western Pacific Region, lead by MWIA WPR Vice President, Dr Desiree Yap AM, this was an opportunity to meet the Medical Women’s Association of the Philippines.
