World Menopause Month started 1 October. The focus this year is on looking at the big picture – that is midlife and how menopause fits in. The Practitioner’s Toolkit for Managing the Menopause, developed in 2014, provided an accessible desk-top tool for health-care practitioners caring for women at midlife. To ensure the Toolkit algorithms and supporting information reflect current best practice, the Toolkit has been revised in accordance with the published literature. Read the abstract.

On 6 November 2023, the Senate referred an inquiry into the Issues related to menopause and perimenopause to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee for inquiry and report by 10 September 2024. Submissions are sought by 16 February 2024.

The resource “Practitioner’s Toolkit for Managing Menopause” published online by Taylor & Francis Group 31 October 2023, was developed to provide health-care providers with a simple assessment and decision-making tool for use during a clinical consultation. The resource is now available.
