Have your say on the draft Cosmetic Surgery Standards

The number of Australians undergoing cosmetic surgery is increasing and there are growing concerns about safety and quality risks in the cosmetic surgery industry.

Consultation is now open on the draft National Safety and Quality Cosmetic Surgery Standards, which describe nationally consistent standards for services where cosmetic surgery is performed.

Share your feedback on the draft Cosmetic Surgery Standards by:

  • Completing a short online survey
  • Participating in an online consultation forum
  • Providing a written submission.

 

Consultation Details

This public consultation will be open until Friday, 26 May 2023.

You can help shape the new Cosmetic Surgery Standards and support a national approach to safe, high-quality care for patients. These standards are part of urgent reforms to the sector agreed to by all Australian Health Ministers to build stronger protections and improve patient safety.

The Commission is seeking feedback from consumers, clinicians, health services, regulators, peak bodies and anyone with an interest in cosmetic surgery.
