On 21 November, NGO CSW/NY hosted its Monthly Meeting on Empowering Women in a Digital World, an event to address the various dimensions of technology’s impact on women, with a particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The meeting also included some alternatives in the digital space that supports gender equality.
The rapid evolution of technology is transforming the world, impacting every facet of our lives. While technology has the potential to empower individuals and communities, it can also exacerbate inequalities, disproportionately affecting women, especially when factoring poverty into the situation.
The November meeting of NGO CSW/NY focused on the theme of “Empowering Women in a Digital World…,” exploring the various dimensions of technology’s impact on women, with a particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), bridging the digital divide, ethical concerns such as autonomous weapon systems, and the multifaceted ways technology intersects with the lives of women.
