The Medical Women’s Society of the ACT held its annual sports event on the 19th April 2026 on the picturesque croquet lawns of the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, where a wonderful group of our members gathered for an afternoon of play, connection, and wellbeing.
Led and coached by Dr Karen Bisley, a prominent Canberra based sports and exercise physician, the croquet session quickly became the highlight of our day — filled with friendly competition, light‑hearted tactics, and plenty of shared laughter. First‑time players and seasoned returners alike found themselves swept up in the fun, with Dr Bisley’s guidance adding both skill and sparkle to the matches.
After the games wrapped up, members settled into a relaxed picnic beside the lawn. Shared food and unhurried conversation created a warm, communal atmosphere that allowed everyone to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.
The afternoon was a joyful reminder of the strength of the MWS‑ACT community — a blend of camaraderie, wellbeing, and the simple pleasure of stepping away from clinical life to connect with colleagues.
A heartfelt thank‑you to all members who attended, and a special acknowledgement to Dr Bisley for her wonderful coaching and organization of this annual MWS-ACT event.
