The Winter Solstice was celebrated by the ACT and Region Medical Women’s Society last week in Canberra with fun games, raffles, auctions and a quiz to raise money for the small charities we support.
Those who chose to dress to the theme provided additional entertainment, and a massive amount of money was raised by the “dessert auction” … so many generous people in our community! We were delighted to again be treated to a flute recital by medical student Liz, accompanied on piano by Robert, a medical Specialist.
Our Gynaecologist colleague Liz leaves this week for the Solomon Islands with equipment partially funded by a previous event, we know that our contributions to this project and the others will all be put to good use.
