The inaugural Artificial Intelligence Summit was held jointly by Rotary Melbourne and the Royal Society of Victoria at the Society’s beautiful 19th century building in Latrobe Street, featuring global thought leaders.

Expert panellists included Lorraine Finlay (Australia’s Human Rights Commissioner), Finbar O’Hanlon (Entrepreneur), Associate Professor Magdalena Simonis AM (University of Melbourne), Dr Dimitrios Salampasis (Swinburne University) and Aaron Sempf Amazon Web Services) , with a few special guests beamed in from around the world.

“We have been educated for a world that no longer exists.”

“I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.”

“Every job will be impacted by AI. Most of that will be more augmentation rather than replacing workers.”

Note: The talk starts at 13 minutes.
