Medevac Volunteers Required

  •
The Medical Evacuation Response Group (Medevac Group) is a partnership of specialist refugee support organisations working together for a safe, orderly and effective implementation of applications under the “medevac legislation”. See merg.org.au/

There are several groups of doctors required to work on the application process. There are different time commitments and skills required for the different roles, however if there is even a little time you can offer to assist, that would be greatly appreciated. The work is pro bono and time commitment is up to you.
  • Behind the scenes roles: FACEM/ACRRM/GP
  • Australian specialists of all types for formal application writing: psychiatrists, orthopaedic surgeons, renal physicians, neurologists, gastroenterologists, obstetricians/gynaecologists, cardiologists, pain medicine physicians, surgeons, hand surgeons, endocrinologists, dermatologists.
  • Junior doctors: admin support, data entry, writing medical summaries

If you are interested in more information, please contact the Secretariat (afmw[at]afmw[dot]com[dot]au) who will pass your details onto Dr Sara Townend who is coordinating the doctors.
