“Voices Against Violence”, a new podcast produced by NGO CSW/NY, seeks to amplify voices, share experiences, highlight innovative approaches, and raise awareness of global efforts to end gender-based violence.
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a global public health, gender equality and human rights issue that affects one in three women worldwide. 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that aims to raise awareness and mobilize action to end GBV.
The data from ANROWS have just been released, showing 41 per cent of respondents mistakenly believe domestic violence is equally committed by men and women, an increase from 23 per cent in 2009. There are several reasons for this mistaken belief, the key one being that the data is victim focused.
