Message from Queensland Medical Women’s Society
QMWS (Queensland Medical Women’s Society) and the wider AFMW community mourn the loss of our friend, colleague and a respected member of our community, A/Prof Brigid Hickey.
Brigid is extremely missed and we pass on our heartfelt condolences to her husband David and son Sydney.
A/Prof Hickey in her leadership roles as a senior Radiation Oncologist and important research work achieved much in her all too short time with us.
Brigid was much loved, and will be sincerely missed by all who have had the pleasure to have known and work with her.
We would like to the acknowledge the fullness of her life as a doctor, medical leader, and devoted mother and wife, as well as a mentor and valued friend of so many in our group.
Please refer to the wonderful tribute to Brigid, made by the RANZCR, and also the tribute and donation page created in her memory, by Friends of Brigid Hickey, that supports research into Pancreatic Cancer.
“Pancreatic cancer receives little or no government funding so please consider making a donation to PanKind, however modest, to help make an impact for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.”
Brigid our brave, kind, generous friend, amazing medical leader, doting and proud mother and wife, you are greatly missed and ever remembered.
