1.VWMS held an event How to Write A Stellar CV and Ace Your Interview’

Targeted at final year medical students, interns and registrars applying for specialist training positions/ hospital jobs.

Feedback given that it was the best event of its kind. Some admitted to having been to 4-5 other career building / interview type seminars held by the various hospitals and this surpassed them in providing concrete advice, adequate question time, a varied and experienced panel.
2. June 15th: COCO event at cocktail lounge to meet and greet.
BOOKS
1. There was the launching of the book by Dr Heather Sheard and Dr Ruth Lee “Women To The Front: the Extraordinary Australian Women Doctors in the Great War”.
This is truly an extraordinary book and its authors are to be congratulated. Their work has been supported by VWNS and AFMW. The VMWS President, Dr Magdalena Simonis officiated at this book launch.
2. Dr Madgalena Simonis also attended the launch of the book celebrating the history of the Royal Women’s Hospital at Medical History Museum . Another book worth reading since it special respects to the hospitals female doctors and their contribution to obstetrics, neonatology and science.

Dr Magdalena Simonis attended the AMA Annual Conference in Brisbane 24/5-26/5/2019 as one of the three national GP delegates.
