MWS ACT & Friends Ski trip to Perisher | MWS ACT & Region [Recap]

The Medical Women’s Society of the ACT held its annual ski trip to Perisher Valley. It was an unqualified success with 12 snow-loving female doctors gathering at Corroborree Lodge the first weekend in August.

This annual event has been run by the ACT group for over 20 years and we included Skiers from Melbourne and Newcastle (all O&G specialists, so that a full half of our group were from that specialty!).

The snow cover may have been thinner than ideal, but snow quality was excellent, and the blue-bird days meant that we enjoyed every outdoor moment! Des is the speed demon, Kate got her Mojo back after 20 years, Holly loved the groomed greens, Karen learned that she can ski any terrain, Tania found the group for outdoor breaks after perfecting her turns, Julie and Jane were light as air on the snow, Liz loved it so much she is returning this weekend, Ruby enjoyed the camaraderie on piste and the coffee shop off, Emma skied one day and enjoyed the mountain town ambience of Jindabyne going for a long lakeside run, Denise hiked around Perisher, and I tried not to lead the newbies too far astray.

The Apres ski was stimulating and supportive – we all took away a determination to stay in touch and repeat the experience.
