What we’re doing about endometriosis | Australian Government Department of Health

National Endometriosis Plan which commenced in 2018, has appointed me to their National Expert Advisory Group

“I’m happy to announce that the National Endometriosis Plan which commenced in 2018, has appointed me to their National Expert Advisory Group as a GP representative alongside Professor Mazza who will represent the RACGP.

See What we’re doing about endometriosis on the Australian Government Department of Health website.

Both Professor Mazza and I have extensive experience, including co-chairs on the Women’s Health Sector of the RACGP Red Book on preventive care guidelines.

In 2020 I co- developed the Raising Awareness Tool for Endometriosis (RATE) Tool and the online eModule on Endometriosis for doctors and nurses, with the Endometriosis Online Learning Steering Committee ( EOLRSC) a joint project between RANZCOG Jean Hailes and the Federal Government, as part of the work recommended by the National Endometriosis Plan (2018).

I am very pleased to have this continuing engagement and the opportunity to make further contributions to the care of women and girls at primary care level. The suffering from this debilitating and common disease, is finally being acknowledged and systemic changes are being made to the ways we talk about menstruation, pelvic pain and women’s health.”
